Notes on “Designed for Windows XP” certification ------------------------------- 1. SPECIAL NOTES TO USERS ========================= The installer for JNBridgePro v6.0 installs two copies of the product: a .NET Framework 2.0/3.0/3.5-targeted version, and a .NET Framework 4.0-targeted version. The 2.0-targeted version offers features only available in .NET Framework 2.0, 3.0, and 3.5 (accessing .NET generics from Java, WPF component embedding, and secure communications), and generates proxy assemblies that can be referenced in .NET Framework 2.0/3.0/3.5 projects. The 4.0-targeted version offers these .NET 2.0/3.0/3.5-specific feature, as well as 4.0-specific features, and generates proxy assemblies that can be referenced in .NET Framework 4.0 projects. The 2.0/3.0/3.5-targeted version and the 4.0-targeted version both provide 64-bit support. Note: A version of JNBridgePro v5.1 targeted toward .NET Framework 1.0 and 1.1 is available as a by request only item. Please contact sales@jnbridge.com for more information. Components of the 2.0/3.0/3.5-targeted version contain an internal file version number of 6.0.0.0. Components of the 4.0-targeted version contain an internal file version number of 6.10.0.0. This allows components from both versions to reside in the same folder, and to both be deployed to the Global Assembly Cache (GAC). Proxy DLL files generated by JNBProxy v5.1 and earlier will work with JNBridgePro v6.0 if the instructions found in the documentation are followed (see “Using proxies from earlier versions of JNBridgePro with JNBridgePro v6.0,” in the User’s Manual). JNBProxy project files created by versions 5.1 and earlier can be read by JNBProxy version 6.0 (both the 2.0/3.0/3.5- and 4.0-targeted versions). Users can upgrade their proxy assemblies from version 5.1 and earlier to version 6.0 by simply reading their project files into JNBProxy version 5.1 and generating new proxy assemblies. Version 6.0 can co-exist with versions 5.1 and earlier, and can be installed side-by-side. This product contains software developed by the Apache Software Foundation (http://www.apache.org).
