JNBridge Releases New Version of JNBridgePro with Full Two-Way Java/.NET InteroperabilityJNBridgePro 2.0 Adds Java-Calls-.NET Interoperability to Existing .NET-Calls-Java FunctionalityBOULDER, CO, April 5, 2004 — JNBridge, LLC, today announced the general availability of JNBridgePro 2.0, the latest release of the company’s Java/.NET interoperability tool for software developers. Expanding on the original .NET-calling-Java technology, JNBridgePro 2.0 enables Java code to directly call .NET, and supports concurrent bi-directional Java-to-.NET and .NET-to-Java interoperability. JNBridgePro enables the integration of pure Java and .NET applications, while maintaining Java’s cross-platform portability and conformance to Java standards. JNBridgePro supports J2SE and J2EE and the leading J2EE application servers, allowing .NET code to access J2EE facilities including EJBs and JNDI. With the full two-way interoperability of JNBridgePro 2.0, developers can combine existing components regardless of platform, create new components on one platform that are usable on the other, and create systems that are targeted to users on either platform and usable on both. Features and Benefits JNBridgePro 2.0 enables developers to write Java code that directly calls .NET code, including the creation of .NET objects, calling .NET methods, and accessing .NET fields and properties. With the .NET-to-Java capabilities of the previous versions, the resulting full two-way interoperability allows developers to construct programs where Java code calls .NET code and .NET code calls Java code, even in the same application. The primary benefits of full two-way interoperability are:
“We have numerous interoperability needs, in particular calling .NET components from J2EE EJBs; the new Java-Calls-.NET mode of JNBridgePro 2.0 enabled us to get this working very quickly.” said Sacha Bugnon, Systems Architect for Interoperability and Subsystems at Lysis, a provider of content management solutions for the digital broadcasting industry. “JNBridgePro 2.0 allows us to easily interoperate between our existing J2EE infrastructure and external .NET-based subsystems. This will provide Lysis a time-to-market advantage.” Additional features of JNBridgePro 2.0 include more precise control over the object lifecycle, greater detail about exceptions thrown across the .NET/Java boundary, and new APIs that allow .NET code to programmatically discover more detail about the Java sides it is communicating with. Availability JNBridgePro version 2.0 is available for immediate download from the JNBridge web site. See www.jnbridge.com for download information.
